Step 1. Begin on the website Home page for the SCCCD campus of your choice. At the top right corner of the page, click the MyPortal link.
Step 2. Find the Sign In button and click on it. This should bring up the SCCCD Log In page.
Step 3. Enter your Username (7-digit student ID number) and password. (If you do not know your password, click on the Problem Logging In? link below the Login button.) Then click the Login button.
Step 4. The Portal should now be open to the Dashboard page (“Dashboard” should be highlighted in yellow at the top of the page.). If Canvas is not listed in the My Favorite Apps section, click on the Apps Catalog link at the top of the page next to where it says Dashboard.
Step 5. The Apps Catalog page should now be displayed. There should be several apps to choose from, including Canvas. To add Canvas to your Dashboard page, click on the three short horizontal lines just to the right and above the Canvas logo. You should have 3 options: “Add to my Favorites”, “Maximize”, and “Minimize”. Select “Add to my Favorites”. You should get a confirmation message at the top of your screen that says “You have added Canvas Launcher as a favorite.”
Step 6. Click the Dashboard link at the top of the page, under your college logo to return to your Portal Dashboard.
Step 7. Click on the Canvas logo on the My Favorite Apps menu. You should be taken directly to your Canvas Dashboard where your classes are listed.
