Step 1. From the Sign-In page, click the Problems logging in? link.
Step 2. From the ‘Problems Logging In?’ page, click the Reset Student Password link. The next page that appears is the “Password Help and Reset” information page with step-by-step instructions for resetting your student password. Click the blue “Reset your Password” button when you are ready to continue.
Step 3a. Enter your “Email or Username”. For the purpose of resetting your student password, the Email / Username you will need to enter is your 7-digit student ID number, followed by @my.scccd.edu (example – 0123456@my.scccd.edu).
Step 3b. Enter the ‘CAPTCHA’ characters. In the lower box, enter the letters and numbers you see in the picture. If you cannot read some or all of the image, click the circular arrows on the right to receive a new image. After you enter your “Email / Username” and the letters and numbers from the image, click the blue Next button to continue.
Step 4. Make sure “I forgot my password” is selected, then click the blue Next button.
Step 5. Depending on what contact information you verified in your MyPortal Communication Preferences, you will have an option to email a verification code to your alternate email address, or text or call your mobile phone. You should receive a text or call within a few seconds, or an email within a few minutes that includes a 6-digit verification code.
Step 6. Enter the 6-digit verification code in the box. Then click the blue Next button.
Step 7. Choose a new password. Now it’s time to pick your new password. This password will be applied to ALL of your student accounts – MyPortal, WebAdvisor, Canvas, and student email. Your new password requires the following:
If your new password does not meet these requirements, you will get an error that says, “This password does not meet the length, complexity, age, or history requirements of your corporate password policy.”
Step 8. Your password has been reset. If your new password is accepted, you will see a message on your screen that says, “Your password has been reset.” At this point, you may use your new password on ALL of your student accounts.
