Body

  1. SCCCD Sign-in page.  To access the “Change Password” link and the password self-reset tool, you need to get to the State Center Community College Sign-in page.  Start by going to any of your student accounts and clicking “Sign-in”.  You should see the Microsoft Sign-in page appear, asking you for an Email, Phone, or Skype handle.  Enter your 7-digit student ID number followed by @my.scccd.edu (example: 0123456@my.scccd.edu).  The next screen you see should be the blue and white SCCCD Sign-in page.  If you are automatically logged into your student accounts without seeing the Microsoft Sign-in page, or the SCCCD Log In page, switch to an In-Private or Incognito browser window first.  Then go to your college’s website Home page, click the MyPortal link, and then click Sign In.  The Microsoft Sign-in page should appear.  After you enter your email / username as described earlier and click the “Next” button, the blue and white SCCCD Sign-in page should appear.  At the bottom of the SCCCD Sign-in page, below the Password box and the Submit button, click the link that says Change Password.

  2. Update Password.  The Update Password page should appear.  You should see a screen that has Username, Old Password, New Password, and Confirm New Password boxes.  If you know your current password, you can use this screen to change your password by entering your student ID number in email format (example: 0123456@my.scccd.edu) as your username, your current password as your old password, your new password, and then by confirming your new password.  If your new password is accepted, you will see a message that says, “Your password has been reset.”

  3. New password requirements.  Your new password must be one you have never used with the college before.  It must not contain any part of your name, your date of birth, or  your student ID number.  Your new password must be at least 12 characters long, and it must include upper and lower case letters, and a number or a symbol.

  4. Don’t know your current password?  If you do not know your current password, you will need to RESET it.  On the Update password page, skip to the bottom of the page and click the “Password reset” link.

  5. Password Help and Reset.  The next page you see will be the “Password Help and Reset” page.  It includes step-by-step instructions for resetting your password by having a password reset code sent to your phone or personal email account
